Duration: 40 minutes
Target Audience: Kindergarten to 6
In Garbagetown, there is no garbage collection, everyone is responsible for their own trash. But one day, a stranger arrives in town. He starts taking everyone’s garbage.
This presentation is a gospel metaphor where sin is represented by garbage and Jesus is represented by a man taking everyone’s garbage. Garbagetown is a silly Christian play with a serious message.
This unusual gospel metaphor teaches the children the negative aspect of sin in our lives and the redemption offered by the sacrifice of Jesus (The Janitor in the presentation). The presentation is followed by a discussion about sin and God’s grace.
Definitely a story that evokes values and good morals for the students.
